History of the Mosque

Year of Establishment:

Hemmat Jame Mosque was established in 1345 Solar Hijri (1966 CE) by benefactors and residents of the Tajrish neighborhood.

This mosque was founded with the aim of serving the community and promoting religious and cultural activities

Expansion and Renovation:

From 1370 to 1380 Solar Hijri (1991–2001 CE), due to the growing population of the area and the need for more space, the mosque underwent significant renovation and expansion. During this period, new sections were added, including:

• A new prayer hall

• A library

• Educational facilities

1390 Solar Hijri (2011 CE)

Modernization and Facility Upgrades:

In 1390 Solar Hijri (2011 CE), the mosque was equipped with modern audio-visual systems, enabling diverse programs such as:

• Educational classes

• Quranic study sessions

Expansion of Cultural and Social Activities:

During this period, the mosque significantly expanded its cultural and educational initiatives, including:

• Religious Education:

✓ Quranic, jurisprudential (ahkam), and ethics classes for children, adolescents, and adults.

• Charitable Activities:

✓ Establishment of a mosque charity fund to support underprivileged families in the area.

• Commemorative Programs:

✓ Large-scale religious ceremonies for Laylat al-Qadr, Dua Arafah, and Muharram mourning observances.

Modernization and Digital Transformation of the Mosque

• Upgraded Audio-Visual Systems:

The mosque was equipped with state-of-the-art technology for live broadcasting of events and religious ceremonies.

• Launch of Social Media Presence:

Starting in 1397 Solar Hijri (2018 CE), the mosque actively engaged on platforms like Instagram and Telegram to enhance public communication and information dissemination.

• Social Workshops:

Hosted educational workshops covering topics such as:

• Family issues

• Life skills

• Religious counseling

Post-Pandemic Era and Increased Activities

• Impact of COVID-19 (1399-1401 SH / 2020-2022 CE):

✓ Programs were held with limited capacity and strict health protocols during the pandemic.

✓ Some ceremonies and classes transitioned to online platforms.

• Resumption of In-Person Activities:

After restrictions eased, the mosque vigorously resumed its on-site programs:

✓ Expanded religious and cultural events: Larger gatherings featuring prominent speakers.

✓ Special charity initiatives: Aid for families affected by the pandemic.

Renovation and Beautification

In 1402 SH (2023-24 CE), key sections of the mosque including the entrance areas and prayer hall underwent comprehensive restoration and aesthetic enhancements to improve both functionality and visual appeal.
